Meet our Staff

Mr. Weirather has been the director of bands at Rancho Buena Vista for twenty two years. He has been teaching music for twenty eight years in public schools. He is only the third director at RBV since the school opened in 1987.  Eric was awarded with the prestigious VUSD Golden Apple Award for 2024.

This is Jordan's third year with Rancho Buena Vista and second year as assistant director.

Matt Bence's journey in the world of color guard began over a decade ago when he discovered his love for dance and performance. Since then, he has honed his skills and knowledge through teaching at prestigious high schools and organizations such as Rancho Bernardo High School, Vista Murrieta High School, Vista High School, and Vox Artium. Matt's teaching style is characterized by his infectious enthusiasm, patience, and dedication to his students. He is known for creating a positive and supportive learning environment where students can grow both as performers and individuals. Matt takes great pride in passing on his passion for color guard to the next generation and helping students develop their skills and confidence.

​Macie Moore is very passionately involved in the color guard community as both a performer and educator. She has performed with successful, prestigious ensembles, such as Vox Artium Independent World/Open and the Sacramento Mandarins. She was also contracted to spin with the 2024 Bluecoats Color Guard. This is Macie’s third year teaching at Rancho Buena Vista High School. As a proud alumni of RBV, Macie inspires the color guard to pursue excellence in everything they do, both on and off the field. She strives to provide an amazing experience for the members of RBV color guard, while mentoring them to be the best performers and individuals that they can be.

Henry is a legend in the percussion world and has been with RBV for twenty two years.

Sofia graduated from RBV and is now the director of bands at Orange Glenn. She spends her free time helping with the marching band in the fall.
